The Foundation plans to cooperate closely with many scientific institutions in both emerging nations and technologically advanced nations, in particular scientific institutions that are part of the Trieste Science System (TS).

Collaboration may consist in providing funds to researchers who are already accepted for a research or educational visit to any of the institutions in TS, including workshops, conferences or colleges.

Collaboration may also consist of financial contributions to similar scientific organizations for international conferences and other educational projects.

The Trieste Science System includes, among others:

• The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP);
• The academy of sciences for the developing world (TWAS);
• The Interacademy Panel on International Issues (IAP);
• The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB);
• Sincrotrone Trieste (The Elettra Synchrotron Laboratory);
• The International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA);
• The International Centre for Sciences and High Technology (ICS);
• The University of Trieste;
• Fondazione Internazionale Trieste per il Progresso e la Libertà delle Scienze.
